Dear friends,
             A warm
welcome to our website from the Bishop, Clergy, religious and Laity of the
diocese of Coimbatore. Our diocese is a 161 year old urban diocese covering
30,000 sq. kms., comprising six civil districts, i.e., Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode,
karur and a part of Trichy and Palghat with Coimbatore as its head
quarters. The languages spoken by our people are Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu,
Kannada, English and even more for Coimbatore is now turning into a city of
information and technology day by day with several colleges and engineering
institutions sprouting everyday. This also means a major increase of floating
populations from all over the country into the city and of course the city of
coimbatore has today become well known for the whole tamil speaking
community all over the world after the celebration of the "ulaga semmozhi tamil maanadu' ie., tamil language
as the World ancient language in the year 2010.
When there are many other salient features to describe the pride of our City, there is no gainsaying that Coimbatore is the "jewel" of Tamilnadu and it is the second largest city in Tamilnadu. It is popularly known as the textile capital of South India or the Manchester of the South.
